Waiting For a Sign

Sometimes we are waiting for a sign from God. Maybe for a new job, or a new major we are thinking to switch to, or a bigger life decision like marriage or moving to a new country. We say “God if you would just show me a sign I’ll know its you!” We say “God if someone walks past me with red hair blowing in the wind. I’ll know It’s you” Whatever the decision or sign we want, we need to be sure that in our life we put God first.

Once you have a connection with God it becomes easier to see his hand working in your life. As you build on your relationship with him and can decipher the difference between other voices and the voice of God, you will see signs with spiritual eyes.

You have to come to a point where you clear your mind of your parents expectations, your friends expectations of you, your boss, and even yourself. Take a breath and praise God and allow him to take the lead. Sometimes when God answers you its not a clear YES or No. But you will feel the decision in your heart, the place where God knows you most. It will feel like a revelation.

At times God will show you clear signs. But other times they are not as obvious and only spiritual eyes can detect these signs. Things that may seem like a coincidence but in fact, it is the hand of God working in your life. God’s plan is so well thought out you can see the connections he made years ago for you and see how they have come together today for your good. As long as you let God guide you and keep your relationship with Him, you will see the path He has set before you!

I remember one time I asked God if I was in the correct place in my life. If I was where He wanted me to be. I felt discouraged where I was and I felt like I was in distress. I needed God to show me a sign to speak with me to let me know where ai should go. I asked God to help me. I then sat in silence awaiting for something. I listened to a calm worship song and waited with my heart open to follow his commands. A while later I felt the presence of God. I was in need and God felt it. I felt Him say “This is the path you were made for.” And I know it may have seemed like a clear answer but I was left confused. This was because there were about three paths before me. And I wasn’t sure which one to follow. When I looked deep inside myself I realized that he meant I needed to endure and continue on the path I was already on.

Getting a sign from God may seem like something on a deeper spiritual level but as long as you trust him and surrender to the will of God he will lead you onto the right path. God promised that he would never leave you nor forsake you.

God bless
